Explosive combat


The goal of our next release will mostly center around on combat and improved AI. Whereas the enemy AI will still be very easy to fight, we've set up the enemies with proper behavior trees so it'll be much easier to adapt and add more complex AI onto in the future. Though currently the enemies have wander states as well as returning to spawn location. A new variation or two will be shown in our next build

For more exciting changes, a few combat changes have been made. We've made the scythe projectile into a boomerang! The scythe now travels a few seconds before going back the opposite way, they also go through all walls and enemies. Catching the scythe returns the spell mana used to throw it. They only come back in way direction, you can keep re-catching the scythe to keep throwing but also risk the chance to get hit by enemy ranged attacks or fast melee enemies.

We also plan to have a lot more more new abilities in the future. Most in which will not be in the next build unfortunately, however in preparation for that we need a new way to gain spell mana, introducing barrels! These wooden cylinders will break on impact giving you spell mana in return. They however don't respawn, later in the future we will introduce way to get unlimited spell mana for puzzle areas and major combat scenarios

In addition to barrels we also have exploding barrels! They deal a lot more damage than your normal attacks but they also damage both the player and enemies so approach them wisely! You can also use the scythe attack to blow them up, baiting enemies towards them then throwing the scythe to deal massive damage!

On further notes our builds unfortunately cannot be played in browser since our game is far too big, however you can still download it here on our itch.io page
